Conceptually speaking, there are a number of challenges it offers.”

Contemporary Psychology
BY AKHTER AHSEN, PH.D.

It is just a picture in the mind but it makes you think, and do things in a way that you always wished for. Sit comfortably, become aware of your bodily feelings, slowly feel all your muscles relax, and then – see an image! Imagery is that simple and it is about teaching us concerning ourselves. What functions do images serve in our minds? Do they have meanings we can understand? Can they be controlled? What benefits can we derive from them?

Psycheye is about the buried psychical life within. The central thrust of this book is to bring the individual to use hidden sources of his/her mind in response to the eidetic image. As the individual concentrates and experiences the potent image over and over again, the drama of imagery reveals novel corners of mental life. The indivudual is brought to an awareness of natural potential within himself, and develops an incisive skill for keep insights into elusive shades of emotion and thought. This book elevates positive human experience to the status of a science. No one can read it and remain unaffected.

Testimonials for Psycheye

"To those who can no longer be satisfied with 'limited goals' or even limited concepts of man, to those who are seeking a breakthrough from traditional methods, to those who want to think comprehensively and bring to bear the whole cultural heritage of mankind on today's problems, this book may be a turning point."
Ralph A. Luce, M.D.

"The spirit of the technique is a positive acceptance of life based upon a clear vision of the way in which antipathies and polarities are resolved within an ultimate unity. A significant happening in the field."
Canadian Counsellor

"An exciting and ingenious way of getting at conflict areas."
Contemporary Psychology

"Without doubt, the method offers possibilities for a rapid and deep investigation probe."
Swiss Archives for Neurology,
Neurosurgery and Psychiatry

"A very original and very promising approach. It is certainly to the merit of the author to have shown the possibility of gaining insight into the almost unreachable aspects of the relationship of the individual to his parents by means of the eidetic developmental images.
Zeitschrift fur Psychologie

"American Psychiatry is indeed fortunate to have the stimulation and enrichment of Ahsen's highly original and creative presence."
Existential Psychiatry

"One of the most significant developments yet to emerge in psychotherapy since Freud's psychoanalysis."
The Glasgow Journal of Psychiatry

"Akhter Ahsen has written an original work which does full credit to Isadore Chein's thesis that philosophy and science can and should be amalgamated to create a systematic view of reality. For that part of the psychological reality with which he deals, Ahsen has given a theoretical framework and a methodology which is one example of how one can unite a metaphysical position with a physical system and put the Cartesian dichotomy aright. In his work he has, albeit in a small existential area, reunited body and soul and given us an approach which enables the patient to cut through the mind/body problem and deal with the essential unity which is himself as a human being."
International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis

"Unmatched in the clinical literature. . .a methodological advance."
The American Journal of Psychiatry
