Dr Ahsens’s project of Image Psychology has been primarily involved with inspiring the imagery movement in both research and application.
It has helped advance the pure research as well as the applied areas of the clinical and the educational, bringing in art, literature and mythology as well. The vision of Image Psychology has been all inclusive and has brought powerful figures into the imagery movment. The project particularly emphasizes the ever wider use of imagery in the way of self-awareness and personal growth as well as evolving human society toward an ecological and universalistic goal.
How people tend to see their personal images has been widely in use in behaviorism, and psychoanalysis, and cognitive science. Distinctly apart and separate from these schools, Image Psychology has revealed the central importance of imagery in hitherto unrecognized aspects of human development and mental functioning.
